Cool Couple ~ Pt. 3 of the Series

Here we are again, another week and another personal project. This weeks subjects were Caitlyn and Thomas, an awesome, creative couple who were absolutely incredible to work with. Everything about our day was perfect, right down to me conquering my fear of losing my equiptment in the water, lol! I am so excited to post these photos, and you'll have to indulge me if I post more than usual. The location was like a dream come true for me, so I am dying to share.

Phoenix rising...

Last but not least...this one's for you Thomas:

Thanks again, guys. I look forward to the next time.

I am Honoured! :)

I am so excited to report that one of my photographs has been used in the huge banners hanging in the entrance foyer at the Northumberland Hills Hospital! The photo is of Cyndee Kelsey and her family, and it was taken more than a year ago. It was seen on Cyndee's desk at the hospital, and the rest is history. A lot has changed in the past year, and when I look at the photo, I think about how this job really does have value to people. I am lucky enough to be a part of the Kelsey family's history, and hopefully their future as well. As it turns out, the family will be growing by one more member in a few months, and I hope they will be back to document the latest change in their lives. I look forward to helping them do that.

Here's a look at the banner...

Have A Saucy Christmas.... ;)

I convinced some great clients of mine (although it didn't require too much in the way of arm-twisting!) to go for something a little less traditional for their annual Christmas card this year. Check it out...

I love it! :)

Wondering if it's going to go out to the in-laws, though....

Especially for Returning Clients... :)

As so many returning clients are coming to see me for Christmas photos these days, and to check out the new studio space, I thought I should remind everyone that we moved back in July. We are no longer at our old address, which was 315 Crandall Rd. If you visit our old address, you will likely meet the new owner, Brian, who although is very nice, is not going to be able to take your family photos. ;) Our current location is 40 Percy Street, in Colborne.

Thanks all! :)

More Cool Kids...

We were at it again this past week, shooting more cool, grunge-y beautiful stuff with some amazing young people. We had a total blast working at this location, and it fit the bill perfectly for the series. Here are a few of my faves...

Thank you to those of you who have modelled for me recently. I am really enjoying the series so much, and I feel so inspired by all of you. You are amazingly open and beautiful all on your own. Not with tons of makeup or elaborate clothing....just as yourselves. I hope you all see how amazing you are, and how you are absolutely perfect as you are.

Your Disk Is Ready IF...... (Nov.10)

I Love Hugh. (And Stirling!)

In the interest of becoming a better photographer, there is the constant quest for new information, better equiptment, and new learning opportunities. We live in somewhat of a culteral wasteland for opportunities to further our photography education, so it was with great delight that Jenna (my photographer friend) and I decided to pack up and head to Brampton to visit with our new friend, Hugh Jacob, who is a master photographer, and was teaching a course at his studio on lighting techniques. Even more exciting was finding out that it was just the three of us, and that we were truly going to be able to get a fantastic learning opportunity, practically one on one!

Spending the day with Hugh was an absolute eye-opener, in so many ways. He helped us to refine our studio technique, and also made us hungry for even more new equiptment (Damn you, Hugh! LOL!) :) The day was spent photographing an incredibly beautiful and patient model, Stirling. I was so impressed with her, and I know it won't be long before she will have a portfolio full of amazing work, and be off to some far away destination with her modelling career.

Here are some photos from the day, of the lovely Stirling, and of the talented (and lovely) Hugh, shot very sneakily from the hip. :)

Now, for the friends among us who are a bit shy, you may want to skip past the next few as they involve a beautiful, scantily clad woman frolicing around with a lacey tablecloth. :)

Thanks Jenna, for being such an amazing friend and photographer....I love being able to work together to stay at the forefront of our business. :)

Thanks Hugh, for your generousity of spirit, and for putting up with my shenanigans! It was an awesome day, and I will never forget the lessons I have learned.... (Don't overshoot, lest you short out an entire electrical circuit! ;)

Thanks Stirling, you ROCK girl! Anytime you are in my neck of the woods, and your shirt just 'accidently falls off', I'll be there with a lacy tablecloth, and a camera! Thanks for everything! :)

I CANNOT wait until the next time!

Disks are Ready!

Free Hugs

In this disconnected world we live in today, it's easy for some people to let days go by without any physical contact with another person. I was sent the link to this video by someone, and I wanted to post it here, just to remind us all that sometimes we all need a hug. Check it out:

Now get up from that chair, and go do it. Go on now...go get your hug on. :)

Here are some more unique, beautiful Holiday card designs. You can change the text to suit your liking when you order a set of holiday cards with a photo from a past session. Cool Kids

I had to post a couple of last nights session with Chris and Melissa. They were so amazing to work with, and we had a ton of fun. Since we are all rabid ANTM fans, we were loving our photoshoot. It was such a departure from what I usually do...it was awesome to try some new things. Thank you guys, I look forward to our next adventure! :)

My new fierce, fabulous muses.....

Girls of Guelph

It was with great excitement that I photographed a 'Diva Party' for four girls from my alma mater, the University of Guelph. They made the long trek from U of G to commemorate their friendship and also, for some, their last year together as roommates. I couldn't help but remember my very fond days at the U of Goo while we were together, and wonder what some of my old room mates are doing now. Nikki Ferri and Lynne Maritz, where are you now? :)

Anyway, here are a couple from our whirlwind session, and I hope these photos will help the girls remember their connection always.

...and one of all the girls together...we joked that it was like a United Nations meeting! :)

Here is the composite I custom created for the session.

Thanks girls for reminding me what it was like to be young, and so beautiful!
