Meekes Family

Lisa emailed me a while back to set up some family photos at the family farm. All of the kids were home from university for Thanksgiving, so it was a perfect opportunity to do family photos and take advantage of the gorgeous fall colours at the same time. I really liked how everyone was so willing to try something different and go for a very non-traditional family portrait. I love how they turned out.

Myles and Me :)

Myles' Mommy, Karen brought him to visit me all by himself last week. I have seen him before with his adoring big sisters, Naomi and Lilah, but this time the spotlight was all on him. I must say, the camera loves him. Every time we said "Smile!", he'd oblige us with a great big grin. Of course, it likely didn't hurt that he thought we were calling his name! :) He let us change him a bunch of times, and didn't let out a peep. His photos are so stinkin' cute, and they show off what a little charmer he is.

Family Photo

Nicole and Steve were in last weekend for some family shots. It was nice to see a blast from the past, as Steve and I went to school together about a million years ago (or so it seems now!) The kids were great, and they worked hard to keep 18 month-old Paige interested in the family photo. :) Not an easy task, but they did a terrific job.

Elaine and John ~ Engagement

I met this lovely couple at Elaines sisters wedding earlier this summer, and I was very happy to be asked to shoot her June 2007 wedding as well. Elaine and John are really fun to be around, and they were excellent subjects to do engagement photos with. They were quite happy to oblige my polite requests (demands) for kissing and canoodling. This, I like. I like it very much, because it makes it easy for me to get great shots with lots of strong connection. I know their wedding is going to be a great party, and I am thrilled to be able to document it for them.

Reese

Reese has been waiting to have her photos done for quite a while, and her mom was patient enough to wait until my studio was up and running to bring her in. We finsihed the appointment in what had to be record time, considering that Reese was like a little doll. She just sat and smiled sweetly, never seeming the least bit concerned about the many constume changes and fuss going on around her. I actually think she would have gone on for another half an hour, but we figured there were probably enough photos from the session to wallpaper an entire living room with them. :)

Here are just a few of Miss Reese from the session...

...and just in case Reese's mom Jenn is reading this....you left your cute pink watch here in the studio. I have hidden it away so that my children don't claim it as their own, so just remind me of it when you pick up your disk! :)

Happy 1st Birthday, Mica!

Little Mica was at the studio on her first birthday last week to have her photos done. Unfortunately, that old song from the 60's was the theme....'It's my party, and I'll cry if I want to'! :) She was so not impressed with us, and all the things we were wanting her to do.

Even so, we still got some adorable ones, and lots of times, it's not the photos of the big smiles that you remember the most. It's often the ones that catch a moment in a childs life that will never be forgotten. So whether your little one laughs, cries or tries to escape the photo session, the photos will still be just as priceless.

:)

Ian and Adrienne

Ian and Adrienne met me for their engagement photos last week, and we were absolutely blessed to have such an amazing day to photograph on. This lovely couple are getting married in Bowmanville on July 28th of next year, and booked me several months ago to do their wedding. We had fun taking the engagement photos, and it was great to see them enjoy it too. I love the way they move together, and how they fit together perfectly. I'm looking forward to sharing your big day with you! :)

Beautiful Belly

Jennifer was in the studio on Friday for some maternity photos, which we have had planned for months. I have to give her kudos...she was so willing to let me try new things, and didn't even bat an eye when it was time to get a little more...ahem...natural, shall we say? I love these photos, and I am so happy with how they turned out. Thanks for coming in, Jennifer, and for being so amazing to work with.

Dog Day Afternoon... :)

I'm pretty new to pet photography, and it's not something I've offered in the past for clients. I may, however have to reconsider the policy after meeting Jenny. Loretta brought her sheltie, Jenny, in for some photos last Friday afternoon, and I was amazed at how good she was. It has been my experience that animals can be far trickier to photograph than children (imagine that! lol) but this time, I was proven wrong. She was very easy to photograph, and as long as Loretta was doling out the treats, Jenny was all about posing for the camera! :)
