Crystal and Shane TTD

After Crystal and Shane returned from Vegas (after their Lucky 7's wedding on 7/7/7), they called me up so we could plan a Trash The Dress shoot. Apparently Crystal's dress had a rough walk home after the wedding, and we figured it couldn't get much worse underneath than it already was, so TTD was the obvious next step!

We drove to a cool location, and after a false start where I accidently laid Crystal down on a wasp hive (she didn't get bit, but I did twice! Ouch!), we got down to business and dunked the dress! My husband Rob, who is a wedding videographer, decided to come with us with his new HD video camera to record the event for posterity sake! Let us know what you think!

For those of you who aren't able to view the video clip, here's a few photos from our TTD session....

Beautiful Newborn

This little angel was in last month for a few newborn photos. A photograph speaks a thousand words, and when they are this young and beautiful, it's even more beautiful. Ahhh.... :)

Lyla :)

Lylas mom is another one of my great customers! Lyla is barely 6 months old and she's been to see me 3 times! Well, 2 times outside of her Moms belly and once inside, anyway! This time she even brought her Daddy along for the ride, so it was very nice to meet him too!

Thanks (again!) Jennifer, for continuing to allow me to capture Lylas milestone moments! :)

Love is in the Air...

It's that time of year again. The flowers are blooming, the birds are chirping and the world is coming alive again.

I love the spring, because it marks the beginning of the outdoor photography season here in Ontario. Now, there are always those adventurous souls who like to brave the chilliest weather for their ultimage shot. However getting outside for some environmental portraiture in the beautiful weather is just what the doctor ordered, after a long winter of studio work.

Last Friday, I had the pleasure of photographing my first set of engagements with three lovely couples who are in the final preparations for their weddings this summer. Trisha and Ryan (and their little boy!) were my first victims...er...subjects of the evening. They came for a few family shots and some nice engagement portraits to use at their wedding. It was easy to see that they are going to be a gorgeous couple on their day, and they took direction so well. Both Trisha and I were surprised at how photogenic Ryan turned out to be, and we feel he has real potential on the modelling circuit! ;)

Jamie and Matt are my September 8th couple, and they were so much fun to photograph. I've seen them before in studio with their beautiful little girl, Emma who is turning 2. It was nice for Mom and Dad to have a little time to themselves for a fun night of photos. They did great, and I know they are going to love the results!

Finally, the last slot of the night was filled by the couple that has arguably the most lucky wedding date this year...7/7/07! I probably fielded more calls for this date than any other this year, and I am thrilled to be taking the photos for Shane and Crystal at their Victoria Park wedding. They are very adventurous, and were totally willing to try everything during their session. After we (finally!) got started, we coasted into the sunset and enjoyed one of the most fantastic sunsets I've seen in a while. The colours were unreal!

It was a great start to the engagement season, and I want to thank you all for hanging out with me on Photo-Friday! :)

(Please note that the photos are appearing in reverse order of the timeline in which they were created. The couples in the photos below, in order, are Shane and Crystal, Matt and Jamie, and Trisha and Ryan. )

Baby Addison ~ 13 Days

I had a little visitor last week....a very little visitor! Her Mommy and Daddy were in my studio in March to have their maternity portraits done, and we discussed then how nice it was to bring the newborn back for 'squishy' baby photos. Baby Addison was only 13 days old here, and she was such a little doll. Kevin and Ambers little beauty also holds the record for the most poops into her daddy's waiting hands....3. :) She had great aim, and luckily, Daddy was ready for her. Here are a few from her fantastic session last week. As you can see, she's a real natural already!
