Lucy first came to me when she was just a newborn for some family photos, so it was nice to see her back again for her latest photo opportunity. I'm not sure why this is, but I am definately drawn to little red-heads, and the fact that she was as good as gold during her session only helped to endear her to me even more!

Love is in the Air...

It's that time of year again. The flowers are blooming, the birds are chirping and the world is coming alive again.

I love the spring, because it marks the beginning of the outdoor photography season here in Ontario. Now, there are always those adventurous souls who like to brave the chilliest weather for their ultimage shot. However getting outside for some environmental portraiture in the beautiful weather is just what the doctor ordered, after a long winter of studio work.

Last Friday, I had the pleasure of photographing my first set of engagements with three lovely couples who are in the final preparations for their weddings this summer. Trisha and Ryan (and their little boy!) were my first victims...er...subjects of the evening. They came for a few family shots and some nice engagement portraits to use at their wedding. It was easy to see that they are going to be a gorgeous couple on their day, and they took direction so well. Both Trisha and I were surprised at how photogenic Ryan turned out to be, and we feel he has real potential on the modelling circuit! ;)

Jamie and Matt are my September 8th couple, and they were so much fun to photograph. I've seen them before in studio with their beautiful little girl, Emma who is turning 2. It was nice for Mom and Dad to have a little time to themselves for a fun night of photos. They did great, and I know they are going to love the results!

Finally, the last slot of the night was filled by the couple that has arguably the most lucky wedding date this year...7/7/07! I probably fielded more calls for this date than any other this year, and I am thrilled to be taking the photos for Shane and Crystal at their Victoria Park wedding. They are very adventurous, and were totally willing to try everything during their session. After we (finally!) got started, we coasted into the sunset and enjoyed one of the most fantastic sunsets I've seen in a while. The colours were unreal!

It was a great start to the engagement season, and I want to thank you all for hanging out with me on Photo-Friday! :)

Engaged, you say? ;) **UPDATED

Well, it's that time of year again. Since spring has sprung, and the nice weather is upon us, it is time to start up with engagements in full force. If you are looking to schedule your engagement portraits we will be shooting every Friday for the next month or so.

Dance Photos!

I'm really looking forward to working with Jennifer Mercer from Jennifer's Jazz It Up! in Port Hope on Monday, May 28th to do their annual dance photos. Last week we did a test session with some of her students to get some promotional material for next months photo day. The kids looked so cute, all dolled up in their dance costumes. The online proofs will be up before the big recital on June 2nd, and parents should be prepared to pick up their proofs and place their orders at the recital. All information to access the proofs will be available on picture day, as well as the password needed to view the galleries.

Naomi, Lyla and Myles are quickly becoming my most frequent flyers at the studio (thanks Mom and Dad!). They are all so different, and each has a beautiful little personality that must be released in the studio. I love the joy of life that Naomi has, the sense of humour of Lyla, and the fantastic easy-goingness (is that even a word?!) of Myles. Their parents have sent me lots of referrals over the years, which I just love, and I enjoy helping them capture the personalities of their little family.

It was actually Karen that tipped me off to what a 'Blog' was, and I've never looked back! So thanks for that as well! ;)

Brothers

Reed and Wyatt are two of the sweetest little dudes you could have in front of your camera! They had tons of personality, and the session just flew by. There were so many good shots that Mom and Dad are going to have a hard time choosing what is going to go on the wall! Thanks for bringing them in to see me!

Family of Four

I first met Aaron and Rayanne at a wedding 2 summers ago, so it was very nice to see them with their whole family in studio. They had a terrific sense of fun, and were so easy to photograph. Mom and Dad looked so great together, I think I may have convinced them to model wedding clothing for us in the future! They look awesome together!

PS. LOVED the ty-die for the family pics! The colour is gorgeous!
