I am so excited to hear that one of my favorite couples just got engaged tonight! I got the email just a few minutes ago, and I'm so happy for them! They move quick though...they already have a date, a hall, a church and a photographer booked! ;) Now that's a couple that knows how to get things done!
Here's one of their cards from last month....
Congratulations Guys!!! I'm so thrilled for you both! :)

Thankyou :)
In just over a week, the calender year will flip once more, and we'll be staring bleary-eyed into the face of 2007. I just wanted to take a moment and reflect on what 2006 has brought to me. I am so thankful for all of the couples, parents, families and individuals who trusted in me to preserve their most important memories over the past year. I have met so many amazing people, and I am truly honoured that they allowed me to share in their lives in 2006.
I am also so thankful for all the photographer friends I have made over the past year. You all have no idea how you have shaped, influenced and inspired me. I am so glad to have met you, and to continue on this incredible journey together. May we continue to create together, and to inspire each other. I cannot wait to see what the next year has in store for us. I know it will bring us creative opportunities and challanges to keep us moving forward.
My most sincere, and humble thanks to all of you...clients and friends, and I wish you all the best in this holiday season.
Gerri

Looking for a Last Minute Gift?
Have I got an idea for you.....(wink, wink!) The session Gift Certificates have been flying off my shelves for the past couple of days. It seems like there are a lot of you out there that want to give the gift of lasting memories to your friends and family for Christmas.
Some ideas for the hard-to-shop-for person on your list....
* A family session for folks who need to update the family photo
* A maternity or newborn session for people just starting their family
* A portrait session for siblings, to get a great shot of each child and of them all together
* A couples session, for anyone who is part of a couple that hasn't had the opportunity to have some beautiful photos taken together.
* A personal session for the lady in your life, to help her find that Beautiful Diva within. It's a great way to feel gorgeous, and have fun at the same time. (Think: Glamour Shots without the cheese factor!) A great gift for Moms with little ones, teen age girls, and everyone who wants to feel good and look GREAT!
* A boudoir session....why not put the 'X' in xmas? ;) Give your partner the gift that is for BOTH of you.... :)
Give me a call at the studio if you are looking for something to give to your special someone. :)

Merry (early!) Christmas to Me!
I was so happy to see my favorite delivery girl (thanks C!) arrive today with my brand new backdrop! I have been so excited to get it ever since I bought it, so I literally tore into the box like a maniac when it arrived. I just love it, and I can't wait to start doing themed sessions on it. I took a few quick snaps of my kids on it tonight, just so I could see what it looked like, and I was so thrilled!
...and now that I look at these photos, I have to tell you that I did NOT ask them to do that freakish thing that they are BOTH doing with their hands. I think they've been hitting the modelling chair too often these days as Mommy's guinea pigs. Apparently they think that posing for a photo involves some dramatic hand flapping. Quel Fromage!!!
I am amending this post to add the photo of my favorite redhead, eluded to in the comments section... ;) Without further adieu, (and to avoid incurring the wrath of my favorite delivery girl), I give you....Zachary.

Santa Babies! :)
I wanted to put together a little slideshow with some of my favorite photos from the past couple of months, so here's a link for you to view:
Santa Babies Slideshow
You will be required to download the Photodex Installer to view any of the slideshows there, but it's a quick download, and won't affect anything on your computer except your ablility to look at the show....I promise! ;) Don't press 'loop all' on the show though....some funky stuff happened when I did that! lol!
Take a look and see if you recognize anyone... :)

The Light at the end of the Tunnel....
It has been such a busy Christmas season! Things are finally winding down, and with only 2 more shooting days left for Christmas portraits, I have a little time to think about all of the many children and families I have seen over the past few months. I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for trusting me with your family's memories, and I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season! I know there will be many, many photos of your beautiful children under those Christmas trees, and I also know that the memories we've created together will last a lifetime.
I also thought it would be fun to share my own family Christmas photos....at least the ones that will be in this years Christmas cards (if I ever get them out!) Now, I have seen many a frustrated parent doing everything in their bag of tricks to get an unwilling son or daughter to smile and pose for the annual family Christmas card. I want you all to know that I can truly relate to what it feels like to be the parent who is pulling her hair out at my childrens antics. Recently, I photographed my own children, with their cousins for our annual family photo, and by the hollering and coercing going on in that room, you would have thought it was an interrogation of a band of career criminals. My sister and I played 'Good Cop, Bad Cop' in an effort to beg, wheedle and cajole our collective brood into performing like trained monkeys. I could feel the beads of sweat forming on my upper lip as I did everything in my power to restrain myself from absolutely LOSING MY MIND when my own kids wouldn't do a thing I asked them to.
So, after a very sweaty, anxiety-ridden 20 minutes, we managed to get a few 'hallmark-worthy' shots for posterity sake.
OY. I am sooooo ready for the annual holiday bender to begin! ;)
