Elaine & John ~ June 23, 2007

I met Elaine and John while I was photographing the wedding of Elaines sister Heather last summer. I knew we were going to have lots of fun as soon as I photographed the two of them for their engagement photos last fall. There was much canoodling going on during that session, and truthfully, I couldn't have wedged a piece of saran wrap between them, and this is very good for wedding photography! :)

Lot's of times I am lucky enough to have a very fun wedding party, full of life and charm, and this day was no exception. I had a hard time focusing while photographing the men, as they were cracking off jokes that made it hard for me to hold the camera straight! To say they share my twisted sense of humour would be a vast understatement! It was a real pleasure hanging out with the whole wedding party, and they were very easy to work with.

I want to wish you both the very best, and thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your big day! :)

Sherry & Mike ~ June 16, 2007

Sherry had booked me almost 2 years ago to do her June 2007 wedding, so we have been in contact for a very long time. She and Mike have been planning their beautiful wedding for such a long time, and everything went perfectly. There couldn't have been a nicer day for an outdoor ceremony! I saw some old friends at the wedding, and it was very nice to catch up with everyone over dinner. I must say, the junior members of the wedding party were a hard act to follow on the dance floor, as they were truly busting a move out there. We have a lot to learn from the younger generation! ;)

I will probably embarrass the heck out of her, but I have to make note that our neighbour (and babysitter extraordinaire!) Brianna (in the teal dress) graduated from grade 8 a couple of weeks ago. On the night of her grad, I took some pics of her and her friend, and I literally could not believe how grown up they looked. I am pretty sure I did not look this sophisticated in my taffeta nightmare as an eighth-grade grad! LOL! Oh the memories....hopefully they will be able to look back on these and not find fall on the floor laughing, the way I do when I look at old photos of myself at their age. Congrats girls! :)

Jeff & Jessa

Jeff and Jessa met me last week for their engagement photos down at the lake. It seems like it's been forever since we first sat down, and now we are just a few months away from their September wedding. We had beautiful weather for our session, and we can only pray that they will get as nice a day for their wedding. I am looking forward to working with you both on the big day! :)

Trash The Dress Confusion....

There seems to be a bit of confusion surrounding the concept of Trash the Dress....I have had a few folks tell me that they don't get the idea, and that there is no way they would want to ruin their wedding gown.

Let me just clear up a few misconceptions right here. :)

1. I am not going to pressure you to trash your dress, either on your wedding day or after. This is just for fun, and it's only fun if you *want* to do it.

2. We are not going to ruin your dress, unless you want to. Trash the dress is about having fun, and doing things that you wouldn't have wanted to do on your wedding day for fear of getting a bit dirty, dusty....whatever. Most dresses are easily laundered afterwards. There are some brides who are ready to trash it again after a quick run through the washing machine! ;)

3. It's for fun only. If it doesn't sound like it might be fun, then it's not for you. And that's perfectly okay.

4. It's not just for the newly married. If you have a dress, and you want to wear it, then you too can schedule a TTD session.

Sugar and Spice...

....and everything nice! Everyone knows that's what little girls are made of. This little doll was in recently for her second photo session, and we had a great session. At 6 months, babies are so easy to work with, and Natalya (I probably messed up the spelling though!) was no exception. Mom brought her infant Christening gown for a few pics, and it was absolutely stunning. I have never seen such a beautiful garment, and she was happy to sit and model it for me! :) Of course, what 6 month session would be complete without a teacup shot? LOL! So cute!
